Our business story starts in 1983 when our owner, David Gretzmier, was 14 years old and working on a lighting project for his parents' home.  This project was like many he had tried and succeeded at, such as mowing, planting and weeding flowerbeds.  A neighbor noticed his work, remarked how good it looked, and asked him to do their lighting project as well.  Thus was born our first paying lighting customer.  Many landscaping and lighting projects later, we still have the same passion for doing the best work possible for over 25 years.

Many things have happened over the past 25 years.  David continued to run his landscape business through High School and College, ultimately moving the business to Northwest Arkansas, and renaming it AAA Lawns.  Over time he grew his landscape and lawn care business into a multi-partner million dollar firm, which David eventually sold the lawn care portion of the business to a partner, which still operates today as AAA Lawns. 

With renewed energy and full of new ideas, we called our new lighting company Brite Ideas NWA, named after the Brite Ideas lighting distributorship we purchased in 2001 to expand our lighting capabilities.  In 2003, sensing a need in the marketplace, we purchased an additional distributorship selling Holiday Bright Lights products.  Both Brite Ideas and Holiday Bright Lights are Headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska.  For more information, click on their names above.

Another phenomenal distributor we would like to mention is Ewing Supply. They have been an excellent distributor of FX Lighting products to us for over a decade.  They have truly helped us succeed with excellent products, and they continue to supply us with many products to this day.  For more information, click on their name above.

Although we still do the occasional landscape project, such as water features and French drains, the bulk of our business is Christmas Lighting and Landscape Lighting.  Since 2001, we have consistentely won lighting awards on the work we do for our clients.  Our reputation for the best lighting in the Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville market is unsurpassed.  In fact, all of Northwest Arkansas, has brought us some great clients.  You can see a partial list of our clients on our Services page.  We have been proud to serve them and hundreds of others.

First and foremost, The Lighting Master has always been a family owned and operated business which have helped contribute not only to our success; but also to the health and growth of our family as a whole.  Anna Marie, the oldest, is taking an active interest in the business, as she has been helping David since she was 10.  She helps him part time during the summer, and is an excellent worker.

Having traveled extensively in the Caribbean, Canada, Europe and Mexico, David and his wife, Sarah, are the parents of 4 beautiful children ranging in ages from 2 to 13 years old.  He has been a deacon at the Mount Comfort Church of Christ for over 10 years and is actively involved in missions and teen ministry.
